Phoenix Backyard Wedding | Scott & Megan

I’ve photographed plenty of venues more than once, but coming back to this Phoenix backyard wedding felt different.

Almost nine years ago, I was here for Megan’s brother’s wedding. Now, in the same yard and under the same tree, it was Megan’s turn. Revisiting a place like this feels like reopening a favorite book. The story is familiar, but you notice completely different things this time around.

The day had a certain ease to it. Close friends, family, and a ceremony that didn’t feel like it was trying too hard. There was dinner on the basketball court and dancing by the pool. It was the kind of night that just moves on its own.

Some houses become more than just a home; they become living memories. Being back in this spot nearly a decade later, watching how happy Scott and Megan are together… well, I wish life had a pause button sometimes.

Congratulations, Scott & Megan!

Bush Highway Engagement Session in Arizona | Mike & Erin

There’s something about the desert that feels a little magical. Maybe it’s the open road. Or the mountains rising in the distance. Or the way the light shifts from bright and airy to soft and cinematic in a matter of minutes.

Erin and Mike leaned into all of it.

We started right in the middle of the road, letting the landscape stretch out around us. The wind picked up, her skirt moved, and they settled into each other.

Among the saguaros, they forgot we were shooting. A forehead kiss. Laughter mid-walk. Her just… leaning back into him.

We ended the night with silhouettes against the fading sky. Simple. Timeless. Arizona at its best.

Here are a few of my favorites from the session.

As an Arizona wedding photographer, I’m always looking for locations that feel natural and effortless. The Bush Highway is one of those locations.

The Croft Phoenix Wedding | Makoa & Kelsey

There’s a quiet confidence that comes from knowing your day is built on something deeper. Makoa and Kelsey brought that kind of grounded presence into every part of their wedding… a day shaped by faith, filled with intention, and overflowing with joy.

They married in Phoenix at Saint Benedict Catholic Church, where the ceremony felt faith-forward, reverent, and intentional. As Makoa and Kelsey exchanged vows, you could feel that these promises came straight from the heart. Their faith guided this moment not just for them, but for everyone gathered. And through it all, they stayed centered in each other, never rushed, never distracted, just fully present in what the day truly meant.

After the ceremony, the tone shifted from reverent to celebratory. Downtown Phoenix set the scene as everyone made their way to The Croft, a venue that felt modern, open, and built for a real celebration.

Makoa’s crew of friends from the Air Force (Makoa flies the F-35) didn’t just show up…they showed out. Early in the evening, you could find them gathered at the cigar bar, sharing easy camaraderie before the night picked up speed. And once it did? The reception turned electric. The whole room showed up for it, family and friends alike, everyone brought the energy. And when the song “American Pie” hit, the entire dance floor erupted into a full-blown mosh-pit-style sing-along. Ties loosened, voices hoarse, generations colliding. Loud, joyful, and entirely unforgettable.

Makoa and Kelsey, thank you for letting me witness something so rooted and so joyful. What a way to start your story together. And what a reminder of what a wedding day can be when it’s built on something that matters.

Congratulations!

Bartlett Lake Engagement Photos at Sunset with Brett and Emily

We chased the last hour of light at Bartlett Lake for their engagement photos, and when the light hits right, it’s magic. Brett and Emily kept everything relaxed and easy, just moving through the desert at their own pace. You could tell they were completely comfortable with each other… lots of laughter, quiet moments, and those little looks that say everything.

Rainy Arizona Wedding at Stonebridge Manor | Eric & Emma

October in Arizona doesn’t usually mean rain, but this year has kept me guessing. Eric and Emma had planned a full outdoor wedding celebration at Stonebridge Manor, and while the weather kept us on our toes, they never let that take away from the joy of the day.

The whole thing felt honest and unfiltered, the kind you can’t stage and never forget.

What stood out most to me was how Eric and Emma kept the main thing the main thing, celebrating their love surrounded by family and friends. That’s truly what it’s all about..

Grateful to have had Mike Olbinski as my second shooter on this wedding, never a dull moment when we’re out there together : )

Congratulations, Eric & Emma!
